Paris is still not a 100% since having the chiro.. she just doesnt feel like her.. Sad It all feels to me that it is coming from either her near fore or off hind..

She will be soft and sound for a whole circle, then something spooks her, she runs forward a little. The "run/jump" forward, feels gross.. like she goes lame, but not limping lame.. its really hard to explain.. Sad

But anyway, does anyone know of any stretches that i can do with a very "non-stretchy" horse?? - she doesnt like being fussed over or pulled/pushed around Roll Eyes I need something for her front and hind.. i know lots of great ones for their head and neck- Thanks jillaroo Grin, but need something to do with her on her days inbetween rides to keep her from going gross..

Any ideas??

Ive always been told to only take my horse out for long trots for a few weeks after chiro work.  Getting her to relax and stretch her head down - try having little contact and making her really trot out in straight lines will encourage her to step out and stretch all those muscles and joints that have been manipulated.

are you sure nothing has been pinched maybe you should talk to the chiro about it again.

Lots of long and low for warm up always does the trick

I always do the usual long and low, big walk then big trot for 15 mintues before i ask for any hard work.. i also do lots of nice and long trail riding..

Im not sure what she has done bnp Sad its driving me batty.. her canter has gone from a nice long working canter to a feral pony canter.. i HATE it.. and it means she's sore.. but chiro said she's fine, she's has body work done too.. hasn't helped either.. had farrier check for abcesses with no result.. im hoping that when she gets her feet done next that she will be sound again.. hoping it might be a yukky placed nail or csomething..

I like roger too- I think I might take myself to camden soon, and see what magic he can do with me- anything would be good LOL

best to only use positive comments re names PG-  Smiley
Also- I wonder if paris is on green grass and what her condition is

Some simple T Touch ideas- are to circle the feet, toe pointed down, close to ground and draw a circle with the hoof  each way- to what your horse can handle.
You can draw the foot forwards and place it down under the belly.
Same for front feet.

How long ago since Kieran came out?  Do you think maybe she is just a bit muscle sore?  He often suggests to give them a bit of bi-carb soda for a while afterwards.

SP, He was only out last week.. Thinks that she shouldnt be sore still.. We thought about her being muscle sore but she has had some accupuncture to try and relieve it with no result Sad He only recommend bi-carb if the horse has lactic acid build up..

Cy, He's one person that i feel very strongly about.  Sad But my lips are sealed Lips Sealed  Wink She has access to grass during the day, but only as much as the rain has given us.. lol Smiley She is in great nic. She's a body score of 3-4 and well muscled as she's a jumper.. She's shiney and bright. Just not right to ride Sad

Does anyone have Roger's number?? Is he good with "male-phobic" horses???

Stretch exercises for your horse by Karin Blignault, Traflagar Square Books, available on Amazon.
Great book, will help you with stretches which are fantastic for any horse at anytime.

You will have to be very gentle in case you inadvertently find the 'sore' spot. The trick with stretches is to only take the leg as far as the horse is comfortable (which may not seem far to you, at first) when you feel a resistance stop and hold the stretch there, take a deep breath, let it out, then ask for a little more stretch and hold there for 10 to 15 seconds. If you pull too far the horse cannot help but pull the leg back, it is a reflex.

However, pretty sure you know stretches are not likely to 'fix' what you are describing.
Sometimes there is a cascading effect of issues which can make it very difficult to find the primary cause of the problem.
There maybe something very long term going on, that has been subtle but caused compensatory issues.

I would suggest bodywork sessions, not too far apart, so the practioner can asses what is repeatedly sore which will then help point to the main problem. Otherwise a vet who is known for paying attention to detail and diagnosing lameness etc.

It sounds like you know and understand your horse well, Good luck

Skipper almost ran down his lovely wife Grin Roll Eyes
But all my horses have benefitted from his different work- Cy, especially, as young horse he was so so sore to touch, I tried many things, but I was simply amazed at what one hit from Rogers hammer changed- and again- last friday, I could have dropped Cy to the ground with my hands- again, and after Roger had been- I could brush and touch him again, with no reaction
