Freshford/Stromlo
« on: June 25, 2015, 11:25:16 AM »
Hi all,

Could anyone who agists at either Stromlo or Freshford give me the down low? I know Freshfords facilities, but does anyone know if there is any stable space? Also wanting to know what the paddocks/fences are like, price, sawdust situations, tack/feed room etc.

With Stromlo could someone let me the above as well as all facilities?

Thanks in advance!! :)

I'm at Freshford in the stables. As far as I know there are none free at the moment, but that can change often so if you want a stable I'd just pop your name on the waiting list.

We have awesome facilities, paddocks for the stable horses are all the ones around the stables. Horses get split into small herds and they go out into the paddock each day with that herd. Morning turnout is included on weekdays so you only need to go out in the arvos. Paddocks are mostly split mares and geldings, except for the pony paddock, where all the kids keep their ponies together. There's always sawdust, just a big pile of it for you to put in your stable. There are feed and hay rooms in each stable block, and there is a tack room next to the toilet but I'm not sure what room is in there as I don't use it, but I'm sure you can make room...

I agist at Stromlo.

The facilities are mid quality. They have stables, an indoor, stalls, washbay etc and management staff are nice but not always helpful.

Great value for money but I'd go elsewhere if I could afford it.

Pasture quality is terrible - there's none. No weed management. Theives and people who let horses out of their paddocks and stalls overnight seem to be getting about. Constant plumbing and fencing issues.
