Anyone who'd like to print their horse blog for the memories, I've just edited the software to include photos so it's complete.

To print: Open your topic, then top-right is a "print" button. Print it out or save as pdf or whatever.

If you'd like me to do it and email it to you as a pdf, just pm me.

How funny, I've also just popped back on here too after years away.

It's a long shot, but there might be someone out there that needs a companion horse?

it's such a difficult situation & I have no suggestions but do hope you find an acceptable one - just wanted to say congratulations on representing Oz in your sport - I dare say you don't get the remuneration that our footballers do so I appreciate the time & money needed for you to keep competeing

I haven't been on here in years but it must be fate... check out the barefoot farrier at Yarck in Victoria- Monty is currently there as I almost lost him to laminitis earlier this year. They have retirement agistment as well and that's where my boy will be staying if he never gets well enough to be ridden again. It's a far cry from stables but they are in herds being horses and at $30 per week including regular trims I am happy to pay for him.

Hi everyone. Been a long time since I've been on here. I have a problem and thought I'd use the brains trust to see if anyone has a solution I haven't considered yet.

I still have my lovely old arab, Rick. He's now 26yo and has early onset Equine Cushings, but is otherwise happy and healthy. I have him stabled on agistment because he founders too quickly if on grass 24/7. He's happily retired these days.

My problem is I'm on the Australian archery team, which basically means I travel every weekend, compete overseas regularly, and have VERY limited time free when I'm home. The time it takes me to feed/clean stable is quite stressful these days because I'm usually at training until late into the night (I also work and have a young family). I've got the whole process as short and efficient as possible, while still able to care for Rick, but it's still time that I need elsewhere. It's also a huge financial burden when I'm already having to fundraise for overseas representative trips.

I could never sell Rick as I've had him for 14 years now and he's part of our family. Everyone who knows him loves him as he's such a lovely well behaved boy. He's also NHM trained.

Free leasing has crossed my mind, but he'd need to be stabled and, well, he's been retired for 4 years now. I don't know how he'd go with regular riding.

And god knows I could never put him down simply because I don't have the money or time.

Has anyone got any suggestions? How can I ensure he's healthy while saving that time and money? Keep in mind I can't really afford any extras like getting someone else to take him on full board. I wish I had more time for him but it's impossible to do an elite sport and have time spare.

I'm looking for a second hand leather saddle for my kids' pony  - 15'' capable of wide gullet - in good condition.  Please let me know if you have something you'd like to sell.
